This is Monet's kitchen from his house in Giverny.

I had tried to create another version of Monet's kitchen before I did this one, but it was impossible to duplicate the tiles Monet used (they were blue and white like Delft tiles, but they were actually French tiles made in Rouen).

Old World Tiles Duplicates Tiles

Then I heard that Ed Mabe and Eve Karoblis of Old World Tiles had replicated the tiles from Monet's kitchen, as well as the stove and sink, and were teaching a class on creating the entire kitchen.  My miniatures club was running the convention at which the class was to be taught, so I bought the kit and made it on my own.  It looks so much like the original, it takes my breath away!!

Monet's Table an Excellent Reference

I added my version of Monet's cooking journal (pages copied from the book, Monet's Table and  reduced to the proper size).  My friend, Micki Pugh, made the basket and the beautiful grapes on the side table.  Mary Eccher (Pannikins by ME) duplicated some of Monet's favorite foods for me; the fish on the table is a pike from Monet's water lily pond.  A basket of peaches and an ice cream maker are ready so the cook can make Monet's favorite peach ice cream.
